Account with Card - FAQ

A Payoneer card is a physical or virtual card that you can associate with a balance in your Payoneer account. This card can be used online, in stores, at ATMs, or anywhere Mastercard is accepted.

To check if you are eligible for a Payoneer card:

  1. Sign in to Payoneer.
  2. Select Payoneer cards.

If you see a message inviting you to order a card, you are eligible. If you are not eligible, a message describing the eligibility requirement is displayed.

Note: Eligibility is based on a minimum of 100 USD* in payments received to your Payoneer account in the last 6 months.

*Minimum threshold may vary depending on your country of residence (for individual accounts) or country of business (for company accounts).

In certain countries, cards may not be available due to licensing restrictions. Due to local regulatory changes, Payoneer can no longer issue cards to customers who have a Russian billing or shipping address.

Yes, Payoneer offers a card under its Global Cashback plan. Under this plan, you can earn a cashback reward on business purchases made with the card. For more information about the Payoneer Global Cashback card plan, see this FAQ.

Note that the availability of the Global Cashback card plan is based on eligibility and may not be available to you or in your country or region.

Depending on your location, you will be able to order the card during the application process or from your online account once the application process is completed.

Yes, Payoneer cards can be added to a digital wallet. Please see this FAQ for details.

A linked card is any additional card you order in a currency after your first (primary) card in that currency. Linked cards are always virtual.

Here are more details about linked cards:

  • Linked cards share the same expiration date as the associated primary card.
  • The primary card must be active in order to use any of the cards linked to it. If the primary card expires or is deactivated for any reason, all of its associated linked cards will become permanently unavailable for use.
  • The funds available at any point in time on the primary card also reflect the total funds available on all its linked cards. For example, if I have 8,500 USD available to spend on my primary USD card at some point in the day, that same total of 8,500 USD is what is available to spend on all its linked cards at that time.

Note that because you can set spend limits on your primary and linked cards, funds availability does not necessarily reflect the actual amount that can be spent. For example, if there is 8,500 USD available to spend, but one of the linked cards has been given a daily spend limit of 5,000 USD, only 5,000 USD can be spent using that linked card. If it is spent, that would leave 3,500 USD available to spend using the primary card and all the rest of the linked cards.

The number of linked cards you can order in all currencies depends on the total amount of funds received to your Payoneer account in the previous 6 months. You'll be able to see the number of linked cards you can order in your account, during the order process.

There are no additional monthly or annual card fees charged for ordering or holding linked cards. You only pay one single periodic fee for using Payoneer cards, no matter the number of cards you hold with Payoneer.

Fees related to card usage (cross-border transaction fees, ATM withdrawal fees, currency conversion fees, etc) still apply.

You can always see the list of fees associated with your Payoneer card in your Payoneer account on the fee page.

Once you've ordered your first card in a currency, any additional cards you order in that currency will be linked cards. You can follow the same steps as ordering any Payoneer card:

  1. Sign in to Payoneer.
  2. Select Cards from the side menu.
  3. Click Order new card and follow the instructions.

Yes, you can. The card will be issued in the name of the authorized representative whose details were entered when registering to Payoneer.

To view the fees associated with your account:

  1. Sign in to Payoneer.
  2. Click on Fees located in the bottom section of your account.

To see the specific fee applied to each transaction:

  1. Sign in to Payoneer.
  2. Click on Manage and choose Transactions.

Funds from your currency balance are transferred automatically to your physical and virtual card every hour. There is no need for you to do anything.

Spend limits let you set a maximum amount that can be spent on a given card for a specific time period. Once that limit is reached, all transactions will be declined. If you have linked cards, you can set a separate limit for each card.

Note: ATM withdrawals have a separate limit. Both limits are shown in the card details area.

There are 3 different spend limits you can set on your cards:

  1. Daily spend limit – The total amount that can be spent in a day (resets every day at midnight, Pacific Time, UTC-08:00).
  2. Monthly spend limit – The amount that can be spent in a calendar month (resets at midnight, Pacific time, UTC-08:00, on the last day of the month).
  3. Total spend limit – The maximum amount that can be spent throughout the lifetime of that card.

To set spend limits in the web app:

  1. On the Payoneer cards page, select a card.
  2. In the card details page, select Manage spend limits.
  3. Set the desired spend limits for the card.
  4. Optionally, you can apply the same limits to this card's linked cards (if you have linked cards). It can take up to 24 hours for limits to be applied to linked cards.

Note: You can also set limits for individual linked cards that have been activated in the linked cards window dialog box.

To set spend limits in the mobile app:

  1. On the Payoneer cards page, tap a card.
  2. Tap the edit icon beside the daily or monthly spending tracker to edit the spend limit.
  3. Optionally, you can apply the same limit to this activated card's linked cards (if you have linked cards). It can take up to 24 hours for limits to be applied to linked cards.

Note: You can also set limits for individual linked cards that have been activated. Tap Linked cards on the Payoneer cards page and select a linked card to view and edit spending limits.

Once you reach a spend limit, you will no longer be able to make purchases with the card for the duration of the limit period (regardless of the availability of funds on the card). You will still be able to withdraw funds at an ATM, up to your ATM withdrawal limit for the period.

Yes. The ATM withdrawal limit is a separate limit. Both limits are shown in the card details area.

The amount in your currency balance represents the total amount of funds you have in that currency. The amount available to spend on your card represents the portion of your currency balance that is available for use with the card. So, for example, if you have 10,000 USD in your USD balance and 5,000 USD available to spend on your card, you have 10,000 USD in total (not 15,000 USD) of which 5,000 USD is currently available on the card for ATM withdrawals or purchases online/in-store.

You cannot transfer funds manually to your Payoneer card. Funds are transferred to your card automatically once every hour, on condition that your card holds less than your daily limit.

The name that will be printed on your card is shown when you confirm your shipping address when ordering a card.

To change the name printed on the card, you will need to contact us and provide an official name-change document.

It depends on why your card was replaced.

If your existing card is automatically replaced because it's about to expire, your current limits will transfer to the new card.

If you've received a new card with a new number (e.g., your card was lost or stolen),then you'll need to set your limits again.

For the total spend limit, the minimum you can set is one dollar more than the current balance on that card. So if you've spent $100 on that card already, the minimum total spend limit you can set is $101.

For monthly and daily limits, you can set your minimums to be whatever you want, even if it's lower than the current balance. In this case, all transactions would be declined until the card is brought down below the limit.

You also have maximum daily and monthly limits, which you'll see in their respective sections on the "Manage spend limits" page.

Your spend limit can be exceeded in certain situations:

Fees: Your limit applies to the purchase amount but doesn't include extra fees (like transaction or conversion fees). If those fees push the total above your limit, the transaction may still go through.

Lowering your limit: If you reduce your limit below what you've already spent, your spending will exceed the new limit.
